The Crawford Chronicles #7

The Crawford Chronicles #7

"1 Week 2 Go"

July 28, 2020

Prayer Requests:

1)  Covid-19 Testing - All of us will be going for Covid-19 testing tomorrow.  Pray that we get our results quickly and that we all test negative.

2)  Flights - One of our flights were cancelled so we will now be leaving at 1:20pm on August 3rd.  Pray that we will see no other cancellations and that all our flights will go smoothly.

3)  Luggage - We still have not resolved the issue with out baggage allowance.  We've been told we will get 3 bags per person but our actual tickets say 2.  Pray that our travel agents will be able to sort out the issue so that we won't have to pay alot for extra luggage.

4)  Documentation - We have recently heard that Senegal has added extra restrictions for people travelling from Canada, the EU and the UK.  Dakar Academy is working on getting us the proper documentation to have to get us through the border but nobody seems to know 100% what will happen when we arrive.  Pray that we would have what we need to be able to enter the country.

5)  Sale of our car - We are now carless!  Our car sold on Monday and we were able to get a good price for it.

Blessings,

Graham, Kathleen and Austin Crawford

The Crawford Chronicles #6

"2 Weeks 2 Go"

July 20, 2020

Prayer Requests:

1)  Documents - We are thankful to the Lord that we were able to secure Austin's passport as well as our international drivers licenses recently.

2)  Flights - With Austin's passport now in our hands, we were able to secure our airline tickets to Senegal.  We will be leaving Fredericton on August 2nd at 4:30pm Atlantic Time.

3)  Luggage - There was a mix-up in the allocation of bags on our tickets.  Instead of 3 bags per person, our tickets say we are only eligible to have 2 bags per person.  Our travel agent is working on ensuring we get 3 bags.  Prayers that this happens would be appreciated as it would be an extra $900 expense if we have to pay for the extra bags we plan on taking.

4)  Covid-19 Testing - Kathleen and I both need to be tested for Covid-19 prior to leaving for Senegal.  Proof of a negative test result in the last 7 days must be submitted to be granted access to the country.  Please pray that we would be able to line up tests for the last week of July and that we would both test negative.

5)  Sale of our car - Our car is currently up for sale.  Please pray that it would sell quickly and that we would get a good price for it.

6)  Saying Good-bye - Please pray for us as we say good-bye to family and friends.  Its is always difficult to leave people behind even when you are embarking on an exciting adventure.

Blessings,

Graham, Kathleen and Austin Crawford

The Crawford Chronicles #5
“Video Update”
July 13, 2020

Prayer requests:

1) Austin’s Passport - Please pray that the application for Austin’s passport will be processed quickly. In order to confirm our airline tickets Austin needs to have a passport. Of course, he also needs it to get past immigration in Senegal. :-)

2) Airline Tickets - We currently have airline tickets “on-hold” but have not finalized the transaction (i.e. paid for them) due to Austin not having a passport. This means we have a tentative departure date of August 2nd. Again, please pray that we will have Austin’s passport soon so we can finalize our airline ticket purchase.

3) Baggage - Please pray that we will be able to get everything packed without requiring a lot of extra baggage fees. Pray that we are wise about what we bring.

4) COVID-19 Test - We have been told that Senegal is requiring a negative test result for Covid-19 to be granted access into the country. The test needs to have been done within a week of arrival to Senegal. We are hoping we will all be able to be tested during the last week of a July but have not yet been able to get appointments for that. Pray that we would all be able to get tested in the required timeframe and that we would all test negative.

Welcome to our first ever video update! I hope you enjoy it. Take it away Kathleen!
