Praise and Prayer items

1) My birthday - Praise the Lord I was able to celebrate my 49th birthday with friends and family. I'm praying my last year in the 40s will be the best one yet!

2) Austin's birthday - Austin officially turned 6 on November 27th. He is a very energetic boy that loves hugs and spending time with people. We thank the Lord for giving him to us.

3) Christmas break - We were thankful to spend our 3rd Christmas in a row in Thailand. We were thankful to be able to spend it with friends and family.

4) Car maintenance - We had some unexpected trouble with our car back in January. The main issue was the air conditioning which was quite costly to repair (about the same price as our rent!). Fortunately we received some unexpected income from the Canadian government for 2 benefits we were eligible for (Carbon tax rebate and Canadian workers benefit). These two benefits covered the entire cost of our car repairs. Praise the Lord!

5) Coughs and colds - Our family has been suffering from a number of coughs and colds lately. We believe it is just the reality of life at the moment having kids in PreSchool and Kindergarten. There always seems to be someone passing a virus around. Pray for the health of our family that we would all be back to 100% again.

6) Duncan finished PreK! - Duncan has officially finished his first year of PreSchool. He will be out of school now until July when he will start PreK1.

7) Lori's visit - For the second year in a row we were blessed to have my sister Lori visit us. She was in Cambodia for a medical mission and she stopped in to visit us on the way back to Canada. Our family really enjoyed her visit and are looking forward to having her visit us again next year.

8) Early Anniversary - Since Kathleen and I won't be together on our anniversary we decided to celebrate early this year. We went "glamping" at a camp on one of the small mountains outside Chiang Mai. We were even able to stay overnight as someone was willing to watch our kids overnight. In the morning we found a "jungle roller coaster" that was super fun. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to get away and celebrate the 9 years together God has given us.

9) The Johnsons - We have been spending alot of time with a fellow SIM family lately. Their names are Luke and Denise Johnson. Their son is in the same Kindergarden class as Austin so we enjoy hanging out with each other because our kids entertain each other while we get to talk. We are thankful to the Lord for giving us friends like the Johnsons to share with and have community with.

10) Kathleen's brothers wedding/Canada trip - Kathleen's brother (Dustin) will be getting married to his girlfriend (Frederic) in April. Kathleen and the boys will be traveling to Canada on April 13th to attend the wedding and will then spend the summer holidays there. Unfortunately, I (Graham) have alot of work to do in April/May so I will not be going with them. Please pray for us during this time apart as we had to do something similar to this 2 years ago. Kathleen and the boys will return to Thailand on July 9th.
