Botswana Bulletin #49

Botswana Bulletin #49
“Christmas Edition”

December 21, 2011

Greetings one and all from a snowy (finally) Edmonton, AB!  We have had very mild weather this winter thus creating a bit of a problem for me.  I haven’t had many “White Christmas’” since 2004 (only 2 I believe) so I was looking forward to having one this year with my family.  Fortunately, it decided to snow yesterday so it looks like it may be a white one after all.

I thought I should send a quick update to all of you to ensure you know my upcoming travel plans.  I’m hoping to see many of my BC supporters and friends next month so I thought I’d let you know my plans so you’ll know where and when I’ll be around.  But first let me give you a little rundown of what’s happened since I last wrote to you.

Wanna Have Lunch?

I’ve been having a lot of lunches and get-togethers with various people to talk about my upcoming mission trip.  It’s been great to see people’s responses.  I really feel this is where the Lord wants me and is leading me and everyone I’ve been talking to has felt the same way.

Can You Help Me With My Computer?

Some of the get-togethers were sparked by the need for some technical support.  Let it be known that if you require some assistance with your computer I would be happy to help.  I have no specific amount per hour or anything.  Just giving a donation to the mission is all that’s required.  The reality is that I love doing it so the fact that it helps the mission at the same time is just a bonus.

How Is Your Support Raising Going?

For those wondering about support levels, the response for support has been fantastic.  As of today, 50% of my support has officially been raised.  Praise the Lord!  Continue to pray with me that the Lord would allow the rest of the support to come in by my projected departure date of February 29, 2012.

Christmas Musical

I had the privilege of being a part of the Fort Saskatchewan Christian School’s Christmas Musical this year.  This year the title was “Nativity” and my part was (as usual) playing the drums in the band.  There was lots of music in the musical (imagine that!).  We had 2 choirs (1 adult, 1 children) plus other special songs featuring soloists and quartets and such.  There was also some drama mixed in which told the Christmas story.  As if that wasn’t enough, there was also some powerpoint media splashed in here and there for added effect.  Everyone did a fantastic job and all 3 showings were well attended.  Our prayer was that many people who don’t know the Lord would attend and be challenged to at least think about who Jesus was and is to them.  Continue to pray for those who attended, that a seed may have been sown in them that day.

What Are Your Travel Plans?

I have most of my plans finally finalized (can you say that?) for travelling out west.  These are the days and locations of where I’ll be as I head out Vancouver Island and then travel back to Edmonton.

Dec 21 - Jan 5 – Edmonton area

Jan 6-8 – Lone Butte, BC

Jan 9-13 – Lower mainland

Jan 14-20 – Vancouver Island

Jan 21 – Lower Mainland

Jan 22 – Lone Butte, BC

Jan 23 – Arrive back in Edmonton, AB

After returning to Edmonton I should be around for another month or so before departing for Botswana.  I’m looking forward to seeing many of you before I head out!

Prayer Requests

1)      Support – Please pray that the rest of the necessary support would come in by the end of February.  Praise the Lord that half of it has already been committed.
2)     Family Christmas – Praise the Lord with me that I have a rare opportunity to spend Christmas with my family here in Canada.
3)     Christmas Musical Response – Pray that the seed planted in many during the Christmas Musical would sprout and grow in people’s lives
4)     Travels – Pray for safety as I’ll be travelling a lot next month.  Winter driving through the mountains has it’s challenges so your prayers would be appreciated.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Jesus is the reason for the season!

Peace and prayers,

Graham Crawford <><
